Paradise Floor- A poem about a Persian Rug

Bijar Persian Rug

This paradise
at my feet
beauty all-consuming.
Fascination falls
to my core
this pleasure I adore.
Compelled by such peace
eyes feast
on fancy filigree and
intricate kaleidoscope lines,
burn into squinted vision.
Rich, lavish wool
dyed from this earth-
I stand taller still.
Created by hands
of such knowledge and skill.
Let this ground rise and
seep into me.
Fill me evermore-
this glorious rug
Oh, this paradise floor.

A poem about a Persian Rug an artist fell in love with.
